Bella’s Beef Stew

3 Pounds Stew (braising) Beef

Salt and Pepper to Taste

¼ Cup Flour

Drizzle Olive Oil

48 Ounce Beef Broth

¼ Cup Red Wine

1 Teaspoon Dried Thyme

1 Teaspoon Dried Rosemary

6 Large Potatoes

1 1/2 Cups Carrots

1/3 Cup Water

3 Tablespoons Flour

Take your stew beef and sprinkle with desired about of salt and pepper.  Sprinkle flour evenly over beef and mix around to coat meat.  In large skillet, on medium high heat sear stew meat on all sides. Do in batches as not to over crowd pan. Add in broth, wine, thyme and rosemary.

Place a top on skillet and simmer meat for 2 hours or until beef is tender. Add water or more broth, if liquid has evaporated.  Peel and cut potatoes into bite size pieces.  Place potatoes and carrots into stew, making sure potatoes and carrots are covered with liquid.  Cook stew for 20 minutes more or until carrots and potatoes are tender.

To thicken stew, mix room temperature butter and flour together and whisk into boiling stew, simmer until you reach the desired thickness.  Serve.  Enjoy<3
