Fig Pear Tart

Using fresh ingredients make a recipe go from good to wonderful.  Fresh picked pears and figs make this tart amazing!

 Fig Pear Tart

1 1/4 Cups Flour

1 Tablespoon Sugar

1/4 Teaspoon Salt

1 Stick Cold Unsalted Butter- cut into 1/4-inch cubes

3 Tablespoons Very Cold Water

1/2 Cup Fig Jam – Store Bought

3 Pears – Peeled and Sliced

9 Fresh Figs – Sliced

1/4 Cup Sugar

Place flour, sugar, salt and butter in the bowl of a food processor. Pulse until butter is pea size. Add water a tablespoon at a time and continue pulsing until dough has come together.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

On a floured surface roll dough out,  place in tart pan and cut dough at top edge.  With fork prick bottom dough and bake for 15-20 minutes.  Let cool.

Spread fig jam on the bottom of crust. Arrange figs around tart in a single layer.  Then arrange pears as shown.  Sprinkle top with sugar.  Bake for another 30-40 minutes, or until fruit is soft ( cover dough with foil if it gets to dark).   Remove and cool.  Serve.  Enjoy!
