Quick Easy Monday Sauce and Quick Easy Italian Bread

 Hunting season is among us, which means I have a lot of none husband time.   No worries, I put the Malocchio on him…..He hasn’t had a deer in 10 years.  I just had to blast my neighbor with the same Malocchio as he likes to hang his deer in his yard, which I find very offensive, hope you see this neighbor.

So my husband was sleeping in the woods and missed Sunday Sauce, so I was complied to make a quick Sunday like dinner on a Monday when he came home.  I know, I’m the best wife ever!!!    Why I feel having pork is better then deer, I don’t know, some how it work in my head… I have to say everyone loved my Quick Easy Monday Sauce and Quick Easy Italian Bread was Delicious!

Quick Easy Monday Sauce and Quick Easy Italian Bread 


1 Package Pizza Dough

1 Egg

1 Pound Rigatoni

Drizzle Olive Oil

8 Italian Sausage Links – Sliced 1/2 Inch Think

1 Onion – Sliced

4 Cloves Garlic – Diced

1-28 Ounce Can Good Quality Whole Peeled Tomatoes- Blended

1 Tablespoon Dried Basil

Salt and Pepper To Taste

1 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Take dough that has been brought to room temperature.  Form into a loaf and set on a greased cookie sheet.  Brush with beaten egg, cut slits on top if desired and place in a preheated oven.  Cook for 20 -30 minutes, or until lightly brown and cooked through.

Bring a large pot of water to boil, season water with a generous amount of salt and cook pasta according to package directions for al dente.

Meanwhile; In a large skillet on medium heat, cook sausage until brown on all sides, remove and set aside. In the same skillet with olive oil cook onion until turning soft, add in garlic and continue to cook another minute or so.  Stir in tomato, basil, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes and sausage into skillet.  Simmer for 20 minutes or longer.

Take drained pasta and add to skillet, mixing to coat all pasta with sauce,  add pasta water if thickened to much.  Place in serving bowl,  sprinkle with Pecorino Romano cheese.  Serve with bread.  Enjoy!
